Use our car insurance calculator to estimate what a driver with your age, state, coverage level and driving record may pay in 2026.
Estimate Your Car Insurance Cost
Choose your details below. You will also be able to compare your selected coverage with two other common coverage levels.
This is an educational estimate, not a quote. Your actual premium can differ because insurers use additional information when calculating a rate.
Not Familiar With Car Insurance Terms?
You do not need to be an insurance expert to use this calculator. These are the main terms you will see:
State minimum
The minimum amount of auto insurance required by your state. The required limits are different from one state to another.
What does 50/100/50 mean?
It means up to $50,000 for bodily injury to one person, $100,000 for bodily injuries in one accident and $50,000 for property damage.
Full coverage
“Full coverage” is not one specific insurance policy. It usually means liability insurance plus collision and comprehensive coverage for your own vehicle.
Deductible
A deductible is the amount you pay yourself before certain parts of your insurance coverage begin paying. The full-coverage benchmark used here assumes a $500 deductible.
Estimate vs. quote
An estimate is a benchmark based on insurance data. A quote is the actual price offered to you by an insurance company after it evaluates your information.
Monthly vs. annual cost
We show both so you can understand the short-term payment and the total amount the policy may cost over a year.
How We Build Your Estimate
State: We begin with the average 2026 insurance cost for the coverage level selected in your state.
Age: We adjust that benchmark using national rate differences between driver age groups.
Driving record: A speeding ticket, at-fault accident or DUI can change the estimate using published insurance-rate differences.
Coverage: You can instantly compare state-minimum coverage, 50/100/50 liability and full coverage instead of running three separate calculations.
Rate benchmarks are based on 2026 insurance-rate analyses from CarInsurance.com using Quadrant Information Services data. Results are estimates for educational and comparison purposes and are not insurance quotes.
Before You Compare Insurance Quotes
Use this calculator as a benchmark. If an insurer later quotes you $280 per month and this calculator estimates $210, you immediately know that the quote is substantially above the benchmark for the profile you selected.
That does not automatically mean the quote is expensive or incorrect. A real insurance company has access to information this calculator does not have. The purpose of the tool is to give you a useful reference point before you start comparing offers.
